Why do atheists feel the need to utilize the opportunity of Christmas or the Yuletide season anyway?

Question: Isn't it just another day. If you want to buy a gift for someone, show that you care, and take a moment to reflect on the goodness of mankind you can do that 365 days out of the year. Why do it during the same season as the rest of the fools. I am not Jewish, and I don't go out to buy the menorah. Enjoy the shopping and the sales. It is almost like a tofu turkey. Did you not see the "Yuletide" in my question? Diabeetus; If you are offended that is on you, not me. Besides it is not as if you can't take off or use a PTO any other day of the year. I just want to know is why would an atheist (not a pagan) choice the christmas/yuletide season to do it. If it is because of family I can kind of understand. However, don't you think your family would be glad to see you any day of the year. Edit to Leopald: You get the points because you do make a point about it turning secular. However if an atheists thinks that anything of the spiritual nature is foolish or a waste of time, including Pagan. It doesn't make sense for them to take part in Christmas, because it is christmas. If they say that they do it because the rest of the family is and they have time off of work then yes. So I can understand why a Pagan, Christian, Jew, or any other religious or spiritual person will celebrate Christmas, Hanakah, or the Yuletide Season. An atheist no.

Answer: It's traditional and to be fair, Christmas has become so commercialised and secular it's not really a religious holiday anymore in my opinion. Considering the fact that it's based on a lot of non-religious or non-Christian traditions with a veil of Christianity thrown over it I'd say it'd be hypocritical for Christians to criticise atheists for celebrating the end of the year in a similar vein to them.
