Does anyone remember Brigadoon .....?

Question: Where did the gathering in the moor and the battles of the tower go ?

Answer: Very good movie! I saw it on TV in 1966 and it has not been shown since, however, you can buy the 1954 DVD on amazon.com for about $13.99. The book & lyrics were by Alan Jay Lerner with music by Frederick Loewe. Brigadoon ( Brig o' Doon - which means Bridge of Doon), Scotland was a mysterious village which only appeared for one day every 100 years, but to the villagers it seemed as only 1 night had passed. A covenant was made with God to keep the village of Brigadoon safe from outsiders, but no one could ever leave or the covenant would be broken and the villagers and the entire village of Brigadoon would disappear into the mists forever. But 2 American visitors, lost in the Highlands, stumble across Brigadoon just as a wedding in the moor was about to be celebrated. One of the Americans falls in love with one of the village girls, but his friend convinces him that it is all a dream and that he cannot stay, but must go back to the USA and marry his fiance'. He returns to the USA, but cannot forget his true love, so he & his friend return to Scotland...where he once again stumbles across Brigadoon, however, the villager who made the covenant with God assures him that "where there is love...a way will be found." He stays in Brigadoon and his friend returns to the USA. I don't remember about the battles of the tower unless it was where the 2 men fought and one was thrown down and hit his head and was killed. Then the wedding was about to take place. But, anyway, the entire village was hidden in the mists except for the 1 day each 100 years.
